Give hope. Give a future. Give Home.
Join Hope School in the global giving movement Decemeber 3rd, 2019
What is Giving Tuesday?
Celebrated the Tuesday after U.S. Thankgiving, following Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday is a movement inspired from the ability of social media to bring the world together to do good. It a day to inspire millions to show up and give back to the causes and issues that matter to them not only on the day of Giving Tuesday, but for the rest of the year.
What is Hope School's Giving Tuesday project? And why does it matter so much?
Every year, we provide boarding for 10-15 students who come from families that face many difficulties and/or live too far to find a way here everyday. Living at the school during the week allows these students to thrive during such formative and important years of their life. This giving Tuesday, we’re raising funds to finish a new boarding section for some of our most vulnerable students. After many years of utilizing the previous boarding section, naturally, new renovations are needed to continue to provide a sense of home for these students. This is a small but important aspect in these student's education, and its a huge way you can help us out. Though some of construction of the new boarding section has already begun, we are lacking the funds to complete it.
The new boarding section will also provide essential space in the school as we aim to add grades 4, 5 and 6, so that students have the opportunity to do their whole k-12 schooling at Hope School.
About the new boarding section-
Unlike our current boarding section, the new one is separated from the school building so as to give more privacy to the students, and sense that they have a place of their own here. The new one will include more 'living room' spaces, places where the students can socialize and do activities together, as well as bathrooms separate from the school building. The new space will also allow the students to have a pet! This may seem like a silly request, but for the students who've often requested it, it is another way to create a sense of home here.
When and how do I give?
For those who receive updates from us, we will send out email reminders as we get closer to the day! If you would like to give to this project now, you can do so through a bank transfer, or for those from the U.S., you can avoid extra fees by donating through the United Methodist Church's Global Ministries website at https://advance.umcmission.org/p-199-hope-school.aspx.
Bank transfer details for your country can be found at https://www.hopesschoolbeitjala.com/donations.
We hope you'll join us this Giving Tuesday as we continue to cultivate an atmosphere for our children to thrive in their education here at Hope School! We also want to thank those who have, and at present partner with the mission of this school. We could not do what we to without you.
Sincerely,
